Ok, so NaNo doesn’t officially start until Wednesday, but what better way to hold myself accountable than to start posting here on Monday? Also, word count practice!
I did sit down to organize my notes and thoughts this morning. I’ll be working on two projects this months. One is a ghostwriting project for a client that I just love working with. I woke up to a text from her this morning with some encouragement so I’m already off to a great start! My other project is my own. I’ve written and published short stories under my name and written several ghostwritten novels for others, so I thought it was finally time to write my own novel-length manuscript. This will be a space western because I’m a dork, so we’ll see how crazy I get with it. I can’t wait to hear what you all think.
I also, surprisingly, spent some time writing this morning. No, this won’t figure into my NaNo word count goal, but yes, this was writing and I’m really pleased with the progress, considering the day’s only beginning. I wrote 1,016 words - not bad for no caffeine yet. They’re not great words - honestly, they’re not good words. But they’re words on paper, and that’s something.
And now I think it might be time for second sleep. I’ll see you all in a few hours.
Keep those words flowing!
