Happy Monday, friends!
Alright, so I have a ton of announcements, so this week's update is mostly that. Actually, that's all it is.
We're Going to WorldCon!
That's right. The Fiction Lab has been granted a table at this year's WorldCon in Seattle! This is big news---everyone who's anyone in the science fiction/fantasy community attends (from all over the world) and is where the Hugo awards are presented. I may or may not already be booth planning...
My goal is to not only get new members, but also network my butt off. This will be the perfect place to find more authors and guest speakers. If you're planning on attending this year, stop by our table!
If you'd like to learn more about WorldCon, âyou can do so hereâ.
First Annual Fiction Lab Writing Retreat
That's also right. Later this year, I'll be hosting the Lab's first writing retreat! This will be open to non-members, however, members will receive an exclusive discount. There will be a limit on attendees, so keep an eye out for updates if you want to snag your spot!
No official dates are set yet, but I'll announce those soon. It will very likely take place in October. I'm currently working on the schedule, so sign up below to receive updates.
Weekly Marketing Workshops for Authors
That's also also right. Our very own member Ashley Kim hosts a weekly workshop for writers to help grow your marketing skills. She provides tips, tricks, and more than a few treats. Sign up or learn more below!
Book Club Announcements
That's also---I can't. I'm sorry.
Here's what the Fiction Lab will be reading and analyzing for our April book and our 2nd Quarter book.
April: The Handmaid's Tale by Margarate Atwood. Wish us all luck.
Q2: The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. Honestly, one of my favorites.
If you'd like to be a part of the discussions, you can sign up for a membership here:
